Because people with AIDS or who are HIV positive symptomatic have special health care needs, CNR has developed a program that provides a comprehensive and unique approach to HIV/AIDS care with particular emphasis on prevention and maintaining wellness. A unique benefit of receiving care through the CNR Health Care Network is having direct access to a wide range of continuing health care services available from CNR. Peer counselors are also available on request. A peer counselor is another individual with AIDS, or someone who is HIV positive, dealing with the same fears and concerns as the patient. In keeping with CNR's tradition of provided care for the underserved, we are now able to provide home care for people who have no health insurance and no means to pay for their care, through the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP).
